Cookies are small files a site asks your browser to keep. We also use your browser’s local storage, which does much the same job for our purposes, so it is listed here too. Everything below is set from our own domain, first-party, apart from the two analytics and marketing tags where the third party is named.
Analytics and marketing cookies are not set until you consent. Until you choose, no Google Analytics script and no Meta pixel is loaded at all, and neither writes a cookie. Declining, or simply closing the banner without choosing, leaves both switched off.

Always on, and not covered by the consent banner. These sign you in, keep you signed in, and hold the choices you make yourself. The site cannot work without them.

Your signed-in session with Supabase, the service that handles our accounts. Split across numbered cookies when the session record is too large for one. Without it you would be signed out on every page.

Analytics · requires consent
Off unless you turn them on. Google Analytics 4 tells us how many people visit and which pages get read. We look at totals and trends, not at individuals.

Tells one browser apart from another so a returning reader is not counted as a new one. Used for aggregate visitor statistics.

Changing your mind
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time, and it takes effect straight away. Turning a category off stops the script from loading and clears the cookies we can reach from our own domain. Anything Google or Meta has already stored beyond our reach can be removed in your browser’s own settings, where you can also block or delete cookies for this site entirely.
