1.What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between pages and between visits, such as whether you are signed in.
Some are set by us. Some are set by other companies whose services we use. This policy covers both, along with similar technologies such as pixels and local storage.
2.Your choice
When you first visit twistandburn.com you are asked which cookies you are happy for us to use.
Cookies that are necessary for the site to work are always on. Everything else is off unless you turn it on, and nothing in the analytics or advertising categories is set before you choose.
Changing your mind. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Turning a category off stops new cookies in that category being set and clears the ones already there.
3.Necessary cookies
These make the site work. They cannot be turned off, and we do not need your consent for them because the service would not function without them.

When you pay, you do so on Stripe’s own secure checkout page. Stripe sets its own cookies there to detect fraudulent payment activity, under Stripe’s cookie policy.
4.Analytics cookies
These tell us how the site is used, so we can see what works and fix what does not. They are off unless you accept them.

We use Google Analytics with IP anonymisation switched on, and we have not enabled Google’s advertising features within it.
5.Advertising cookies
These let us see whether our advertising works and reach people who might be interested in what we publish. They are off unless you accept them.

If you do not accept advertising cookies, the Meta pixel does not load and no data is sent to Meta.
6.How we use what we learn
Analytics tells us which pages people read, where they stop, and which routes into the site bring people who go on to subscribe. We use that to improve the site and to decide where to spend on marketing.
We do not use cookies to record which stories you read or which endings you choose. That information comes from your account, not from cookies, and our Privacy Policy explains how we handle it.
7.Controlling cookies in your browser
As well as our cookie settings, every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Look under Settings, then Privacy.
Blocking all cookies will stop parts of this site working, including staying signed in.
You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing Google’s browser add-on, and adjust advertising preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings.
8.Changes to this policy
If we add or remove cookies we will update this page and, where the change is material, ask for your consent again. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
